Rats

Rats are playful, affectionate, and fun pets. They are the main focus of my rodentry. I work with plenty of varieties, including dumbo, hairless, rex, double rex, American blue, mink, Siamese, dominant white spotting, and more.
Rats must be kept in pairs/groups and cannot be housed alone for any reason, therefore I will only sell same-sex pairs for $25, or $10 each for groups of 3+. If you already own rats of the same sex and similar age, you may adopt one rat for $15.
In order to purchase rats, you must submit an adoption application. Once you have applied, I will contact you regarding your eligibility within a few days. After being accepted, you will be added to a waitlist and will be able to reserve your desired rats as soon as they are available.
Adoption Application
I have litters pretty often and will post updates to my Facebook page, but I cannot promise that certain babies will be eligible for adoption until about 3-4 weeks old. At that time, I will post about accepting reservations for babies that pass temperament testing. You may reserve them at that age and then pick up your new rats once they are 6 weeks old (unless otherwise discussed). Reservation of babies may require a deposit depending on the number of rats, length of holding period, and/or the addition of custom products such as adoption packs; if a deposit is needed, you may send half of the total through PayPal (all deposits are nonrefundable) and pay the remaining balance at pickup.

Please read my policies, contact me with any questions, and be sure to submit an application.

Before adopting rats, please do some online research and read through this care guide:
*If you are in search of feeder rodents, please contact me. In a rodent breeding program, some animals do not fit pet standards due to poor temperament, health, or other reasons. I make sure to put my culls to good use as food for other animals, so I would be happy to talk with you about feeder rats.

Please contact me directly about available babies!

Adoption Packs
These are optional additions to the purchase of your new rat(s). The cost is $30 added to the adoption fee. If you are reserving rats plus an adoption pack weeks in advance, you will need to put down a deposit of half the total via PayPal in order to cover material expenses. Deposits and purchases of adoption packs (and extra harnesses, etc.) are nonrefundable. Currently, the rat adoption pack includes:
- bag of food (Mazuri blocks)
- bag of treats (homemade cookies)
- hammock
- 2 toys
- harness/lead
- birth certificate(s)
- printed care guide (and any other paperwork)

You may ask to get extra items such as additional harnesses, toys, or hammocks for an additional cost. I plan to soon offer a new enrichment pack that will offer an array of hammock sizes/styles and new toy designs.
I can also build tub cages that will house several rats. Contact me for more information about them if you're interested.
